State-Level

SADD Youth Leadership Development at the state level offers opportunities for students to contribute through their Student Advisory Board (SAB). The SAB is led by the State Coordinator and is instrumental in assisting them in maintaining an open line of communication between the SADD chapters in their state.

Duties can include:

  • Establishing and maintaining communication links between chapters, students, SAB, and the State Coordinator;
  • Providing observations and feedback to help improve operations in the state;
  • Set and accomplish goals by serving as student advisors to the SADD State Coordinator;
  • Representing the SADD State Coordinator in their respective regions at conferences, meetings, rallies, and events

The SAB members are selected through an application and interview process, and current members serve as the selection committee. After a student serves on the SAB for one year, an evaluation process is conducted by the State Coordinator and the other SAB members. Although a student may apply for a second term, there is no guarantee that the student will be awarded the position pending the evaluation process.
