SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES (STDS)
If you are infected with a sexually transmitted disease, you might not have symptoms or the symptoms may mimic other diseases. Symptoms may take months or years to appear. If you are at risk for an STD, check for these warning signs.
If you think you have an STD, talk to your parents, school nurse, or another adult you trust. You will need to get tested by a healthcare professional. STDs such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis are curable. Although not curable, diseases such as HIV, human papillomavirus (HPV/genital warts), herpes, and hepatitis B are treatable.
