Smashed: Toxic Tales of Teens and Alcohol

To combat the high incidence of teen crashes nationwide, SADD partnered with Recording Artists, Actors and Athletes Against Drunk Driving (RADD), HBO Family, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and other members of the National Organizations for Youth Safety (NOYS), on a project that fostered dialogue between parents and teens and teens and their peers on the importance of not driving impaired, buckling up, maintaining safe speeds and preventing underage drinking.

HBO Family's hard-hitting documentary, Smashed: Toxic Tales of Teens and Alcohol was shipped to all SADD chapters in 2005.  The DVD is currently out of print and no copies are available from SADD.  RADD (The Entertainment Industry’s Voice for Road Safety), which partnered on the documentary with HBO, has been seeking funding to reprint the DVD, but this remains a long-term goal and there are no immediate plans to proceed with production.  For more information, contact RADD directly at radd1@aol.com.
